Financial Assistance

Post-secondary education institutions in PEI charge tuition.  There are programs and services available to assist eligible individuals to receive repayable and non-repayable financial assistance.

UPEI, Holland College and Collège Acadie Î.-P.-É. offer entrance scholarships for students.

Scholarships are a form of non-repayable assistance that is allocated to students based on different criteria. Each scholarship will have different criteria depending on the organization awarding the scholarship. Scholarships and awards are often available through employers, businesses, and community groups.

Student Financial Services provides information on repayable student loans and provincial bursaries and awards which may be available.

Some students may choose to take out repayable loans or lines of credit to cover expenses associated with studying. A Guide to Borrowing Money from PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada provides information on this.
